This order from the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) says that you need to pay the annual asylum fee. It includes a deadline to pay the fee and send proof of payment back to the BIA. The annual asylum fee is $102 as of February 1, 2026.

You can pay online at this payment website. Make sure to write down your payment tracking ID, and save a copy of the receipt. The BIA requires that you must send a copy of the receipt and a copy of this order back to the BIA by the deadline in the order. Find more instructions about how to pay and send proof.

The BIA can charge the annual asylum fee once an asylum application has been pending for a year. If you do not pay the fee and send proof by the deadline, your asylum case may be denied or dismissed.

You can find the most up-to-date information about the annual asylum fee in the BIA here. You can also watch this video about how to pay the annual asylum fee (the video is for the immigration court, but the steps are the same for the BIA).
