About ASAP

ASAP is the largest collective of asylum seekers in the United States. ASAP uses technology to serve more than 1 million immigrants from 175 countries. A nonprofit membership organization, ASAP supports members for the long haul as they navigate the U.S. asylum system—using in-depth resources, a remote legal help desk, and breaking news alerts. ASAP then works alongside members to make change: members collectively decide ASAP’s priorities, share their stories with the public and press, and participate in high-impact litigation and advocacy campaigns.

To date, this model has made it possible for hundreds of thousands of immigrants to access the authorized workforce and contribute to their local communities, and generated more than $1 billion in additional household income for immigrant families.

ASAP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and membership is free for immigrants. Please donate today to support this critical work!

Staff and Board

ASAP’s diverse, remote team of technologists, attorneys, and other experts work together alongside thousands of asylum-seeking members. ASAP is a women of color-led organization whose staff and board are majority people of color, majority female, and majority first- or second-generation immigrants.

In the interest of privacy and security, we do not list the names of our staff or board on our website. Please email [email protected] with questions.

Mission and Values

ASAP believes that asylum seekers can make great change by standing together. We provide our members with legal information and support. And we work with our members to build a more welcoming United States. ASAP members come from more than 175 countries and live in every U.S. state and territory.

Asylum seekers overcome incredible obstacles to bring their families to safety. We recognize their strength and provide them with the tools they need to keep their families safe and help their children thrive. We are creative, collaborative, and nonpartisan. And we believe all asylum seekers deserve to live in safety.
