Are you renewing your work permit as an asylum seeker? If USCIS received your work permit renewal application on or before the expiration date written on your current work permit card, your work permit is automatically extended for 540 days. This receipt notice is proof of the extension. This is true even if your receipt notice says that your work permit is extended for only 180 days.
